The Maharashtra government has attracted an investment of over Rs 5,100 crore in information technology (IT), and Rs 829 crore in information technology-enabled services (ITES) in the last three years.
The state government introduced an IT and ITES policy in June 2015 to provide employment to one million people and to generate revenue of Rs 50,000 crore from IT parks.
After introducing the policy, letters of intent (LoIs) were issued to 1,261 business units and developers who will be setting up 26 IT parks in the state.
The actual , on the ground in the units is Rs 479 crore.
