Mahindra Group has announced plans to set up its largest integrated manufacturing facility for automobiles and tractors in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
Spread over 1,500 acres in Vidarbha, the facility will be complemented by a 150-acre supplier park in Sambhajinagar. Scheduled to be fully operational by 2028, the plant will have an annual production capacity of over five lakh vehicles and one lakh tractors, making it Mahindra’s biggest manufacturing footprint in India. The automotive unit will produce vehicles across multiple powertrains, including internal combustion engines, electric vehicles, and future technologies, catering to both domestic and global markets. The tractor unit will further strengthen Mahindra’s leadership in the farm equipment sector, meeting growing domestic demand and key exports.
In addition, the company will acquire land in the Igatpuri-Nashik region to expand existing product and engine capacities and support its Advanced Technology business. With these initiatives, Mahindra is committing Rs 15,000 crore over ten years and acquiring more than 2,000 acres across three locations. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said, “This landmark investment will generate significant employment, accelerate regional development in Vidarbha and surrounding areas, and further reinforce Maharashtra’s position as a leading manufacturing hub in India.”
