Manaksia Coated Metals & Industries, a leading manufacturer and exporter of coated steel products, has initiated a planned shutdown of its Continuous Galvanising Line (CGL) to implement a technology upgrade and capacity expansion.
The upgrade will convert the line from galvanised steel to Aluminium-Zinc coated steel, increasing line speeds and installed capacity from 1,32,000 MT per annum to 1,80,000 MT, a 36 percent enhancement. Production of aluminium-zinc coated steel is expected to stabilise from January 2026. The upgrade aims to improve productivity, operating efficiency, and energy efficiency, while reducing coating costs per metric tonne without compromising corrosion resistance. It will also support a shift toward higher-value products, tapping into growing market demand and enabling premium pricing.
Commenting on the initiative, Karan Agrawal, Whole Time Director of MCMIL, said, “This upgrade reflects the direction in which we want to take our coated steel business. The move to Aluminium-Zinc coating technology allows us to offer a more durable and application-ready product while also improving the efficiency and reliability of our operations.”
