1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

NHPC in a fix over Kotli-Bhel Power Project

NHPC's Kotli-Bhel hydel based power project in Uttarakhand have run into trouble owing to its critical nature.

The Union MoEF has revoked the environment clearance accorded to its 320 MW Kotli Bhel Stage 1B project. Further, the company is yet to obtain forestry clearance for the 195 MW Stage 1A project.

So far, the company has spent around Rs 70.21 crore and Rs 48.60 crore, respectively, on stage-1A and 1B of the projects. The estimated costs of the two stages are Rs 1,298.49 crore and Rs 1,911.33 crore, respectively.

Also, the Central Electricity Authority has extended the validity of its concurrence to both the projects till October 2011.

Both the projects are run of river proposed on Ganga river and its tributaries in Garhwal district of the state. While the Stage IB is proposed on river Alaknanda, Stage IA is proposed on river Bhagirathi.
