Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) has achieved significant operational progress at the Rajasthan Atomic Power Project, reinforcing India’s clean and reliable nuclear energy capacity.
Unit RAPP-7 has been successfully operating at 90 percent of full power since 29 December, 2025 after receiving regulatory clearance, reflecting stable reactor performance and marking a crucial stage in its commissioning journey. At the same time, RAPP-8 reached an important milestone with the successful completion of primary heat transport system hot conditioning on 5 January 2026, moving the unit closer to fuel loading, criticality, and grid synchronisation. These achievements highlight NPCIL’s focus on precision engineering, stringent safety practices, and long-term energy security.
As RAPP-7 moves toward commercial operation and RAPP-8 advances through pre-commissioning stages, the project continues to strengthen India’s base-load power capacity and climate commitments.
