National Textile Corporation (NTC), currently implementing three greenfield
projects at an investment of Rs 600 crore is likely to transform into an
integrated textile mill covering processing and garmenting.
NTC's three integrated mills are coming up in Hassan in Karnataka, Achalpur
in Maharashtra and Rajnagar in Gujarat. The New Minerva Mills at Hassan and
Finlay Mills at Achalpur are being set up as Textile Composite mills with
spinning, weaving and processing activities and Rajnagar Mills at Ahmedabad with
spinning and weaving activities.
The New Minerva Mills in Hassan is likely to have an installed capacity of
processing 50,000 mtrs per day with 43,200 spindles and 48 shuttle-less looms.
While the Finley Mill at Achalpur is to process 20,000 mtrs per day with 48,000
spindles and 144 shuttle-less looms, the Rajnagar Mills is expected to have
capacity to process 36,000 spindles and 72 shuttle-less looms.
The spinning and weaving is expected to be in full swing from March 2010, the
rest of the value chain is to be ready in the next fiscal year of 2010-11.
