Cairn India, which has started crude production from its Mangala field in
Barmer, Rajasthan, has signed an initial agreement for supplying crude to
Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) to RIL's refinery in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
According to sources, RIL is likely to get six-seven consignments totalling
about 1.92 million bpd. The supplies are expected to begin in a fortnight.
The agreement has been signed pursuant to the Union Government's approval of
allowing private refiners to qualify as additional offtakers of the Rajasthan
crude.
