Japan based Mitsubishi and Hitachi have proposed to establish Smart Eco
Cities at Changodar Special Investment Region (SIR) and Dahej SIR in the Delhi
Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) Gujarat region project.
Waste treatment, water conservation, energy efficiency, eco-friendly
transport etc will be the focus of development in these cities. The companies
have made a feasibility study for both the projects. Once the companies complete
this, they will move to Dholera and other SIRs of the state.
The Gujarat Government has proposed 12 SIRs on the DMIC region of the state.
These are Dahej, Dholera, Sanand, Changodar, Santalpur, Halol-Savli, Hazira,
Navlakhi, Simar, Pipavav, Anjar and Okha.
