As many as 12 more steel plants will be set up in the state of Odisha. These steel plants will have a production capacity of 60 million tpa.
The state currently has 51 steel plants with a production capacity of 33.12 million tpa.
Three new steel facilities will be set up in Sundargarh district, two in Jajpur district, and one each in Angul, Kendrapada, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Jagatsinghpur districts.
ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India has proposed to set up a 24 million tpa greenfield steel mill at Mahakalpada in Kendrapara district. JSW has planned for 12 million tpa steel facility at Gadakujang area in Jagatsinghpur district.
