Real estate developer Omaxe plans to invest over Rs 1,000 crore in developing an integrated township in Amritsar, Punjab. Named New Amritsar Township, the project will be constructed on a 260-acre land parcel along GT Road, 12 minutes from the Golden Temple.
The township will be developed through Omaxe’s subsidiaries. In Phase 1, 127 acres will be developed, offering residential plots of 300, 500, and 1,000 sq. yards, along with commercial spaces, a school, a clubhouse, internal roads, landscaped greens, security, and 24x7 utilities. The project has Rera registration and required approvals, with financial closure already achieved.
The township will benefit from key infrastructure projects in the region, including the 99 km Nakodar-Amritsar branch of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, the 98 km Amritsar Ring Road, a 4.5 km elevated corridor, and a Rs 300 crore airport expansion. “The project is designed to support a balanced and scalable lifestyle while serving both current needs and future growth,” the company stated. Development will be phased, with Phase 1 targeted for completion in four years.
