Omaxe is set to invest Rs 500 crore to develop Omaxe Chowk, a mixed-use high-street project in Ludhiana.
The land for the project was secured through a competitive bidding process by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) and will be developed on a leasehold basis. The project is expected to be completed by June 2030. The modern project in the heart of Ludhiana at Ghumar Mandi, a well-known shopping hub is spread across 5.25 acres and combines retail spaces, luxury residences, and dining options, catering to wedding shopping, fashion, jewellery, and entertainment.
The development is anticipated to generate significant local employment and long-term job opportunities in retail, food, beverage, security, and maintenance. It aims to provide a structured and comfortable alternative to traditional market areas, with a focus on visitor convenience, featuring wide walkways, two-side frontage, multiple entry points, and over 1,000 parking spaces. The project will be developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) between RLDA and Ludhiana Wholesale Market, the project is set to complete by June 2030, creating long-term employment opportunities in retail, food, and maintenance sectors.
