MIRC Electronics, owner of the Onida brand, intends to set up another
manufacturing unit in India by 2013.
The company is likely to invest about Rs 100 crore for the proposed plant.
Currently, the company is looking for suitable location most probably in the
southern part of India for the proposed plant. It may manufacture mobiles, LED
TVs or air conditioners.
Currently the company manufactures mobiles in China and has three
manufacturing facilities for other products in Wada near Mumbai, Rourkee in
Uttarakhand and Noida in Uttar Pradesh.
