Patel Engineering has received two letters of intent (LoIs) for the execution of excavation and associated works, as well as coal transportation at the Jhiria West Open Cast Project (OCP) located in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh for  South Eastern Coalfields (SECL).

The contract awarded by Saidax Engineers and Infrastructure has a total value of Rs 798.19 crore. The scope of work includes overburden removal, coal cutting through surface miners, and the loading and transportation of coal. Additionally, Patel Engineering will be responsible for providing and maintaining all necessary plant and equipment, supplying diesel, and ensuring the availability of skilled labour during the project's duration.

The contract is set to be executed over a period of nine years, marking a significant expansion in the company's infrastructure and mining-related operations. The time period for execution is of nine years.
