The Power Ministry on 15 July, 2025 announced a Rs 1,000 crore scheme titled 'Assistance in Deploying Energy Efficient Technologies in Industries & Establishments' (ADEETIE) to promote the adoption of energy-efficient technologies among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Under the scheme, the government will provide interest subvention of five percent for micro and small enterprises, and three percent for medium enterprises on loans for energy efficiency improvements. The ADEETIE scheme aims to offer comprehensive support, including investment-grade energy audits, preparation of detailed project reports, and post-implementation monitoring and verification. It will initially cover 14 energy-intensive sectors, such as brass, bricks, ceramics, chemicals, fishery, food processing, forging, foundry, glass, leather, paper, pharma, steel re-rolling, and textiles.
ADEETIE will be rolled out in two phases, starting with 60 industrial clusters, followed by 100 additional clusters. The scheme is set to be implemented over three years, starting in FY26, and will be managed through the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). Of the total outlay, Rs 875 crore is allocated for interest subvention, Rs 50 crore for energy audits, and the remaining funds for handholding support. The initiative is expected to catalyse Rs 9,000 crore in investments.
