Shivtek Spechemi Industries, a flagship entity of the Shiva Group, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bodal Chemicals for acquiring approx. eight acres of land in Rajpura, Punjab.
The Rs 50 crore investment includes both land acquisition and the construction of a new specialty chemical manufacturing facility, strengthening Shivtek’s green chemistry and export-oriented roadmap. The plant will be located adjacent to Bodal’s chlorine facilities, enabling a direct chlorine pipeline supply that enhances operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability. The new unit will manufacture chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) and green plasticisers, catering to growing demand in the plastics and rubber sectors. This will also support Shivtek’s expansion into Northern and Eastern India.
Dr. Amitt Nenwani, MD of Shivtek, emphasized the strategic value of the location, future expansion potential, and shared sustainability vision with Bodal. Ankit Patel, Executive Director at Bodal, said the deal optimizes land use and ensures a steady chlorine off-take.
The plant will integrate solar energy, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems, and strict emissions control. Operations are expected to begin by late 2026 or Q4/FY27, subject to MoEF clearances.
