Shri Balaji Sugars & Chemicals plans to expand its sugar unit capacity from 3,500 tccpd to 11,000 tcccpd at Yeragal and Madari Village in Muddebihal Taluka, Vijayapura district of Karnataka.
The proposed unit will also involve the expansion of the alcohol unit capacity from 180 klpd to 500 klpd and the co-generation power unit capacity from 18 MW to 60 MW.
As per the information available with Projects Today, Shri Balaji Sugars & Chemicals intends to begin the work on the project by November 2023.
Presently, Shri Balaji Sugars & Chemicals is awaiting environmental clearance for the project. As soon as approval is received, the company will appoint the contractor and machinery.
Further, the company has scheduled the completion of the project by December 2024.
