Sigachi Industries has commenced civil works for its next phase of capacity expansion at the Dahej SEZ unit in Gujarat.
The project includes setting up an advanced 12,000 tonne per annum (MTPA) microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) facility. This strategic expansion is aligned with the company's long-term goals of enhancing operational resilience, embedding a safety-first design philosophy, and sustaining global leadership in the excipient industry. The new capacity is expected to be operational within the next 9 months.
Upon completion, the total MCC production capacity will rise to 30,000 MTPA. This includes the output from existing units at Dahej SEZ and Jhagadia. Sigachi noted that the expanded capacity will support uninterrupted customer service and ensure timely deliveries, strengthening its reliability in the pharmaceutical supply chain. A new Spray Dryer system is being sourced in collaboration with leading equipment manufacturers and safety consultants to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
Serving customers across 65+ countries, Sigachi Industries manufactures a wide range of pharmaceutical products, including Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), Intermediates, Excipients, and vitamin-mineral blends.
