Som Distilleries & Breweries has launched a Rs 600-crore greenfield project in Khimsepur, Farrukhabad District, Uttar Pradesh. The Bhoomi Pujan ceremony marked the official commencement of construction on a 40-acre site allotted by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA).
The project will be executed under the company’s subsidiary, Woodpecker Greenagri Nutrients. The facility is set to become one of Som Group’s largest integrated alcobeverage complexes, housing a brewery, distillery, bottling units, storage, and maturation facilities. It will have an annual bottling capacity exceeding 12 million cases of beer, supporting Som’s portfolio of over five beer brands.
The project will not only bolster production capabilities but also create employment opportunities for 700 to 800 persons, strengthening the local economy. The development aligns with Som Distilleries’ expansion goals and underscores their investment in sustainable and large-scale infrastructure for the alcobeverage sector in India.
