The Kerala government has launched new policies on export promotion, logistics, environment, social, and governance (ESG), and a Hi-Tech Framework to strengthen its industrial base and attract investments under the New Industrial Policy (NIP).
Industries Minister P Rajeeve emphasised that these initiatives aim to establish Kerala as a hub for sustainable and technology-driven industries. The pioneering ESG policy encourages businesses to adopt sustainability and social responsibility, offering tax incentives and subsidies, with goals of carbon neutrality by 2050 and full renewable energy use by 2040.
The Export Promotion Policy 2025 targets USD 20 billion in exports by 2027-28, diversifying into biotech, defence manufacturing, Ayurveda, IT services, and more, while promoting a unified ‘Made in Kerala’ brand.
The Logistics Policy 2025 plans to develop Kerala as a multimodal logistics hub with Integrated Logistics Parks, creating employment for 50,000 persons. The Hi-Tech Framework promotes innovation in semiconductors, aerospace, robotics, and biotechnology through manufacturing parks and R&D clusters along the Kochi–Palakkad– Thiruvananthapuram corridor.
