Tata Hitachi has decided to restructure its business which had been closed down between 2015 and 2017 due to its loss-making overseas subsidiaries.
The company is closing down its high-cost Jamshedpur facility in Jharkhand by end of FY19. The production is consolidated largely at its facilities in Kharagpur, West Bengal and Dharwad, Karnataka. The facilities are witnessing a Rs 200 crore capacity expansion drive.
Tata Hitachi is a 60:40 joint venture between Hitachi and Tata Motors.
