Tata Housing Development Company Ltd (THDCL) launched a low-cost housing
project christened 'Shubh Griha' in Boisar, Maharashtra on 6 May 2009.
The apartments of 283 sq ft, 360 sq ft and 465 sq ft are likely to be priced
in the range of Rs 3.9-6.7 lakh. With a balanced mix of buildings and open
spaces, these projects will be constructed under the guidance of Indian Green
Building Council.
THDCL is expected to invest Rs 100 crore in the Boisar project and develop
1,200 housing units. The housing project will come up on about eight acre and
will have homes in the affordable segment, besides shopping, hospital, schools
and other amenities, in subsequent phases. The housing project is slated to be
completed in two years.
The company aims to build up to 15,000 budget homes over the next 3-4 years
across several cities, including Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
