Tata Power has successfully commissioned the 400 kV Koteshwar–Rishikesh transmission line, a critical project which will evacuate 1,000 MW of clean hydropower from the Tehri–Koteshwar generation complex in Uttarakhand to northern states and UTs.
This project strengthens the regional energy grid and enhances grid reliability across states like Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. The transmission line, built across challenging Himalayan terrain, reaches altitudes of over 1,816 mtrs. and required significant engineering expertise. Over 500 skilled personnel completed the project in just one year, despite logistical and geographical challenges.
"The successful completion of this project demonstrates our strong capabilities in safety, high-precision execution, and sustainable infrastructure development," said a company spokesperson. This milestone represents the third major achievement under the NRSS project, further solidifying Tata Power's role in enhancing India's electricity transmission network.
