US based Watson Pharma has acquired its Swiss competitor, Actavis.
Both the companies have operations in India. The combined company has global and U.S. headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey, USA, and international headquarters in Zug, Switzerland. The combined entity will have an anticipated 2012 revenues in excess of $8 billion, says a press release from Watson. In April 2012, Watson acquired the Mumbai-based Sekhsaria Chemicals. Watson also has a manufacturing facility in Goa.
Actavis has been in India since it opened a sourcing office in 2001. It has a bulk drug manufacturing plant at Alathur, near Chennai.
