The Tamil Nadu Government plans to re-develop Todhunter Nagar, a locality in
Saidapet housing government servants, into a modern colony at a cost of Rs 175
crore.
Work has begun on the construction of a residential complex that will have 15
multi-storeyed blocks, each with 10 floors to accommodate 100 quarters. The
project is to be completed by 2015.
The complex is likely to have amenities such as shopping mall, transit home
for the staff of PWD, banks, post office, community hall, playground, walking
track, gymnasium and a park.
The proposed buildings are likely to come up after demolishing existing staff
quarters at Todhunter Nagar.
