On 30 December, 2024, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of REC under the Ministry of Power, handed over the project-specific special purpose vehicle (SPV) "Rajasthan IV 4B Power Transmission" to Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon in Gurugram.

This handover marks the culmination of a competitive process where Dineshchandra R Agrawal Infracon emerged as the transmission service provider (TSP) through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) conducted by RECPDCL. The project involves the development of critical transmission infrastructure for evacuating 3.5 GW of renewable energy from Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zone.

Key components include a 765/400 kV, 2x1500 MVA substation near Merta, Rajasthan, 577.97 km of 765 kV transmission lines, and 72.8 km of 400 kV lines, along with associated works. With an estimated cost of Rs 5,177.41 crore, the project is to be executed on a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) basis within 24 months.

This initiative is a significant step towards enhancing the integration of renewable energy into the national grid, supporting India's renewable energy transition and infrastructural growth in the power sector.
