RSPL Group's SOKA has reached a major milestone in its soda ash manufacturing operations by securing environmental clearance to double its production capacity.

The Gujarat-based plant, which is already one of India's leading soda ash producers, will now increase its capacity from 5,00,000 tonne to one million tonne per year. This expansion, which also includes plans to produce sodium bicarbonate (SBC), positions SOKA as a significant player in the industry. The company is already working on a plan to boost its capacity to 7,50,000 tonne annually within the next two years, with an additional 2,50,000 tonne set to be added at its state-of-the-art chemical complex. SOKA’s expansion is expected to generate around 2,000 new work opportunities in Gujarat's coastal region, further supporting the local economy.

The increased production will also enhance SOKA’s presence in the solar glass sector, where soda ash is a key ingredient. SOKA established its soda ash manufacturing facility in 2019 in Dwarka district and now exports to nearly 50 countries worldwide, including regions such as Central America, Africa, and APAC. Speaking about this milestone, Tinku Chhabra, CEO, SOKA, stated, “The environmental clearance to expand our soda ash manufacturing capacity is a significant step in advancing the ‘Make in India’ vision. Our plant plays a critical role in strengthening the domestic industrial ecosystem by supplying essential raw materials to key sectors such as detergents, glass, solar glass, textiles, and chemicals.
