Karnataka Power Corporation (KPCL) is likely to complete the preparation of
the DPR for the 270 MW Shivasamudram hydel power scheme by June 2010. The
project is proposed to come up as a run-of-the river scheme across Cauveri
River, in Coorg district.
After DPR, KPCL expects to receive the requisite clearances from the MoEF by
March 2011, so that the contract for the execution of various civil works for
the project can be awarded by May 2011.
The total cost of the project, to be completed in 30 months, is pegged at Rs
686.13 crore.
