Bhushan Power and Steel (BPSL) proposes to set up a cold rolling mill complex
with a capacity of three lakh tonne in the western region of the country at an
initial investment of Rs 800-1,000 crore.
BPSL has initiated talks with the governments of Gujarat and Maharashtra for
acquiring land. As soon as land acquisition is completed, BPSL will start the
construction work. The complex, to be set up over 100 acre, will house a cold
rolling mill, a pickling line, a galvanising line and other equipment.
The company has signed an MoU with Belgium based CMI FPE for design and
supply.
The plant is slated to be commissioned by 2012 and the final product (hot
roll coils) from the plant are to be supplied to automotive and construction
industries.
