A footwear park set up under Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) is likely to be inaugurated at Kinaloor in Kerala on 22 April 2010.

The park spread over 70 acre is expected to bring an investment Rs 500 crore.

Around 35 entrepreneurs had been allotted land as part of the project, managed by KSIDC. The land will be formally handed over to the entrepreneurs after the inauguration.

Work on the standard design factory building, an administrative block and a common effluent treatment plant and other basic infrastructure has already been completed.

Elamaram Karim, Industries Minister, Kerala, on 22 April 2010 inaugurated a footwear park at the industrial growth centre under the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) at Kinalur in Kozhikode. The minister also handed over the documents, regarding the leasing out of land, to more than 30 entrepreneurs who have agreed to set up footwear production units at the park.
