CIL plans to commission 20 washeries with a capacity to wash 111 million
tonne of fuel by 2015. Of the proposed washeries, the company has floated global
tenders for eight additional units. For the remaining it will consider floating
a single tender.
Two washeries will be set up under the Eastern Coalfields, six under the
Ranchi Central Coalfields, two under South Eastern Coalfields, five under
Central Coalfields, four under Mahanadi Coalfields and one under Western
Coalfields.
