Cairn India on 25 April 2010 commissioned a second crude oil processing plant
(Train II) with a capacity of 50,000 bpd of oil at its Mangala oilfield in
Barmer block, Rajasthan.
The commissioning of the processing plant is likely to help the company
further augment its output from the block. Cairn is likely to stabilise
operations at Train II in the next few days.
Currently, Cairn is producing 30,000 bpd of oil from its Mangala field from
the first processing plant (Train I) and Bhagyam and Aishwariya are expected to
go on stream by 2011.
The approved offtake rate from the Mangala (1,25,000 bpd of oil), Bhagyam
(40,000 bpd of oil), and Aishwariya (10,000 bpd of oil) fields adds up to
1,75,000 bpd of oil.
