Indosol Solar plans to build 10 GW of solar manufacturing capacity across the value chain by 2026, leveraging government incentives aimed at boosting domestic production.
The company currently operates a 500-MW solar module facility in Andhra Pradesh and is a key beneficiary of a central incentive scheme that rewards output. According to Chief Operating Officer Balachander Krishnan, Indosol’s current capacity is expected to double by the end of 2025. The firm also aims to expand its ingots-to-modules manufacturing lines by the end of next year.
India's solar manufacturing sector has seen renewed momentum following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to reduce reliance on imports and promote local production of clean energy technologies. Indosol has sourced key equipment from the Vietnam unit of China’s Linton Technologies Group. The company is also in advanced discussions with potential investors, exploring an offtake-based partnership expected to be finalised within three months.
