State-run energy major NTPC has fully commissioned its 220 MW Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-II) in Madhya Pradesh. This milestone follows the successful operationalisation of the final 120 MW capacity segment, marking the complete commercial operation of the project. The development was confirmed through a regulatory filing.
The project has been implemented by NTPC Renewable Energy, which operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy—an arm of NTPC. With this, NTPC Renewable Energy has achieved a key target in expanding India’s clean energy capacity and contributing to the nation’s renewable energy goals. The commissioning was officially recognised as commercially operational from 29 June, 2025.
This move strengthens NTPC’s growing renewable portfolio and supports its commitment to sustainable energy development. NTPC continues to be at the forefront of India's energy transition with a strong emphasis on solar and wind power projects under its green subsidiaries.
