The state government has granted approval to Hinjewadi water plan, with an overall cost of Rs 17.86 crore.
It is projected to be completed by December next year and will benefit about 40,000 residents in this region. The main source of water for this project will be the Kasarsai dam, which is 11 km away from the village.
The government has emphasized on completion of this project in phases, in a time-bound manner, by the Maharashtra jeevan pradhikaran, the zilla parishad and the village panchayat.
The minimum rate of Rs 10 per thousand ltr of water has been fixed by the government. According to the state government’s resolution, the village panchayat will have the rights to increase the water charges for making the project sustainable.
