Work on the 45 million litres per day (MLD) sewage treatment plant (STP) in Greater Noida West is progressing, with about 40 percent of the construction already completed.
The plant, being developed at a cost of Rs 71 crore in Sector 1, is expected to be fully operational within the next six months. This facility will ease the pressure on the existing sewage infrastructure, which has been overburdened. Alongside the STP, a master sewage pumping station (MSPS) is being constructed at a cost of approximately Rs nine crore, expected to be completed in three months.
Once both facilities are up and running, they will handle sewage from multiple sectors, including Sectors 1, 2, 3, 4, and parts of Techzone 4 and 7, as well as nearby villages. This project aims to improve sewage treatment and reduce the environmental impact of untreated sewage in the region. The new STP will also help prevent groundwater contamination and pollution in local drains.
