ABB India bagged a turnkey order worth Rs.430
crore to provide an enterprise wide Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
system for ONGC's production and drilling facilities.
The SCADA system will enable ONGC to integrate
its basins, plants, forward base and other assets to the corporate data centre,
facilitating access to data and real-time performance management. Some of the
benefits of systems include reduction in time, effort and cost of integration,
enhanced reliability and scalability, monitoring and control of assets across
locations and improved efficiency in operations.
This initiative will improve performance and
efficiency of ONGC's geographically dispersed production and drilling
facilities, both onshore and offshore.
The turnkey project, scheduled to be completed by
the end of 2007, encompasses site survey, system design, engineering, supply,
installation and commissioning of an integrated three-tier SCADA system and is
inclusive of a six-year post-warranty annual maintenance services contract.
