ACC has chalked out plan to augment cement capacity in India.
The company is planning to create additional five million tpa capacity at an investment of outlay of Rs 3,000 crore. The proposed expansion plan is expected to take its overall cement making capacity to 35 million tpa by 2015. As per the plan, the company will replace the existing Jamul clinker making facility in Chhattisgarh with a new plant and will raise the grinding capacity. The Jamul facility will have 2.79 million tonne clinker manufacturing capacity with an estimated investment of Rs 800 crore. In addition, capacity of the existing Sindri grinding plant will also be increased in the state. Apart from this, a new grinding plant will be built at Kharagpur (West Bengal). Both (Kharagpur and Sindri) installations will source clinker from the new Jamul plant.
