AMPIN Energy Transition plans to invest over Rs 1,000 crore in West Bengal to boost solar energy infrastructure.
The investment will include Rs 700 crore for a 1 to 2 gigawatt solar cell manufacturing facility and Rs 300 crore for setting up solar power plants. The company is currently identifying land in industrial parks, with the manufacturing unit expected to occupy 15 to 20 acres. The project is anticipated to create around 1,500 direct and indirect employment, contributing to employment and skill development in the region. AMPIN, with over five GW of renewable energy assets across 22 states, operates in solar, wind, battery storage, and hybrid power.
This investment will expand its presence in Eastern India and help meet the rising demand for clean energy in West Bengal. The new facility will not only strengthen domestic solar value chains, but also support India’s mission to reduce solar component imports. The initiative is expected to accelerate clean energy adoption and emissions reduction in the state.
