The Maharashtra government on 07 February, 2026 signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth over Rs 10,880 crore with several companies for investments in the solar energy, healthcare, and manufacturing sectors in the Vidarbha region.
The agreements were signed at the Advantage Vidarbha – Khasdar Audyogik Mahotsav 2026, organised by the Association of Industrial Development, in the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The largest commitment comes from Galaxy Solar Energy, which plans to invest Rs 10,080 crore to set up an integrated solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility in Nagpur. The project, to be developed in three phases, is expected to be completed by 2036 and aims to anchor large-scale clean energy manufacturing in Vidarbha, boosting long-term industrial growth.
Additionally, GR Infraprojects will invest Rs 200 crore to establish a tower manufacturing plant in Nagpur. Under these MoUs, the state government will assist companies with approvals and fiscal incentives. Highlighting Vidarbha’s momentum, CM Fadnavis said, “The region is witnessing historic investment MoUs and commitments, which are fructifying into real investments.”
