APTRANSCO Joint Managing Director and AP Power Coordination Committee Member-Convener Kirthi Chekuri have announced that the Corporation has submitted its final proposal for the Rs 28,033 crore Green Energy Corridor Phase-3 (GEC-III) project to the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
The initiative aims to integrate 11 GW of solar power and 7,373 MW of pumped storage into the national grid. It will add 8,862 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 9,500 MVA of capacity to help achieve India’s 2030 clean energy goals. Speaking at Independence Day celebrations at Vidyut Soudha, Chekuri highlighted progress on 69 ongoing projects worth Rs 8,638 crore, expected to add 14,046 MVA and 2,041 circuit km.
She noted transmission losses fell from 2.69 percent to 2.60 percent in FY25, while non-tariff revenue rose sharply to Rs 174.47 crore, driven by Optical Ground Wire leasing. APTRANSCO also earned ISO 27001:2022 certification, and its Joint Meter Reading app, projected to save Rs 750 crore, won two national awards.
