Delhi Power Minister Ashish Sood announced that the government has approved projects worth Rs 463 crore to shift and underground high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) electricity lines across the city.
This initiative aims to enhance safety and power reliability, particularly in residential and densely populated areas. As part of the plan, overhead lines along 26 roads in Chandni Chowk will be shifted underground at a cost of Rs 159.47 crore. The undergrounding work will take place in 125 localities, with an estimated cost of Rs 267.20 crore. Additionally, 15 proposals approved last year amount to Rs 37.63 crore.
