Andhra Pradesh Transmission Corporation (APTransco) is mulling to set up 82
new substations at a cost of Rs 4,546 crore with special focus on Hyderabad by
2015.
Funds for the projects have been tied up with PFC, REC, commercial banks and
the Japan International Cooperation Agency which has offered Rs 940 crore
assistance.
The company is planning to set up three substations of 400 kV, 24 substations
of 220 kV and another 34 of 132 kV with an investment of Rs 3,940 crore. Another
17 substations 220 kV substations and four substations 132 kV substations for
lift irrigation are expected to be commissioned during the current fiscal.
Of the total, two 400 KV substations, 10 220 KV substations and six 132 KV
substations are likely to be set up in Hyderabad at an estimated cost of Rs
1,265 crore.
