Accenture has submitted a proposal to the Andhra Pradesh government to establish a new campus in Visakhapatnam, requesting for around 10 acres of land.
The tech consultancy aims to add approx. 12,000 employment opportunities through this expansion, aligning with the state’s efforts to attract major IT companies. This move follows similar initiatives by other IT giants like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Cognizant, which secured land leases in the region under favourable state policies.
Andhra Pradesh is keen to facilitate the proposal, recognising its potential to boost local employment and economic growth. While the investment amount has not been disclosed, the campus is expected to contribute significantly to the growing trend of IT firms expanding to smaller cities to leverage lower costs and reverse previous urban migration trends.
