Global hotel chain Accor Hotels is emphasising on strengthening its existing brands in India while looking for opportunities to expand its luxury brands.
Presently the group has 48 hotels spread across nine brands in the country with a total of 8,900 rooms.
The primary focus of the group is expansion of its medium-scale and upscale brands in India. It is looking to expand its luxury brands like Sofitel in bigger cities.
The company recently launched Novotel Kochi Infotech Park, built in association with Muthoot Pappachan Group.
With this hotel the company has so far invested Rs 400 crore in Kerala in the hospitality segment.
The hotel chain has acquired land in Mararikulam in Alappuzha and Bekal in Kannur, where it intends to set up luxury resorts. The group also has plans for a couple of hotels in Chennai at Sriperumbudur and near Old Mahabalipuram Road.
