Adani Enterprises and IRB Infrastructure Developers have emerged as the preferred bidders for developing 594 km Ganga Expressway connecting Meerut and Prayagraj on public private partnership (PPP) mode under design, built, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis.
The six-lane access-controlled expressway by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) will have a 120 mtr right of way (ROW) and is designed to be expandable to eight-lanes in the future.
Phase-1 of the project has been divided up into four groups for development with each group comprising of three civil packages.
The concession period is 30 years. The land acquisition progress currently stands at 94 percent completion.
IRB Infrastructure Developers has emerged preferred bidder for Group-1(Meerut – Amroha districts, 129.700 km), while Adani Enterprises has emerged preferred bidder for three packages Group-2 (Budaun – Hardoi districts, 151.700 km); Group-3 (Hardoi – Unnao districts, 155.700 km); and Group-4 (Unnao – Prayagraj districts, 156.947 km).
The estimated value of the work for Group 1 is Rs 5,039.85 crore, Group 2 is Rs 5,647.71 crore, Group 3 is Rs 5,810.99 crore and Group 4 is Rs 5,626.46 crore.
UPEIDA had invited RFQ applications in March 2021 with a three year deadline. On the Meerut-end, the expressway will be connected to the Delhi-Meerut Expressway’s upcoming Phase-5. On the eastern-end, the expressway will end at Prayagraj Bypass.
