Gautam Adani's Group will embark on a major project to build India's largest battery energy storage system in Khavda region in Gujarat.
The facility, which aims to be completed by March 2026, will play a critical role in supporting the group’s renewable energy ambitions. Once finished, it will be one of the largest battery storage systems globally. The Adani Group plans to scale the system's storage capacity to 50 GWh over the next five years. This project comes at a time when battery storage is becoming crucial for managing intermittent renewable energy sources such as wind and solar.
The Adani Group is seeking technological partnerships from international firms to help achieve this goal, with the aim of accelerating India’s transition to clean energy. India is working toward doubling its clean power capacity to 500 GW by 2030, highlighting the importance of such infrastructure developments.
