Aimtron Electronics has expanded into the railway signalling and train safety systems sector through a partnership with an Indian technology provider.
This move is part of Aimtron’s strategy to diversify into regulated electronics manufacturing and cater to infrastructure-led sectors. The company will focus on the manufacturing and integration of signalling systems for Indian rail and urban transit networks, aiming to enhance rail safety. Railway signalling electronics involve rigorous qualification, certification, and regulatory compliance processes. Aimtron’s expansion aligns with India’s increasing investment in railway infrastructure, which is projected to reach USD 15.9 billion by 2030.
The company will handle manufacturing, system integration, testing, and quality assurance of safety-critical signalling electronics, ensuring they meet the required safety and reliability standards for rail and metro infrastructure. This expansion also supports India’s broader efforts to improve rail safety, including the deployment of Automatic Train Protection systems like Kavach.
