Airbus has inaugurated a centre of excellence (CoE) for aerospace studies at Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV) in Vadodara, Gujarat, marking a key step in strengthening India’s aerospace research and talent ecosystem.
The CoE is part of Airbus’ long-term collaboration with the University and focuses on driving innovation, research and skill development aligned with the future needs of the aerospace sector. A major thrust area of the centre will be research and development in sustainable aviation fuel, along with encouraging student-led innovations in next-generation aerospace technologies. The centre was inaugurated by Jurgen Westermeier, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, in the presence of senior representatives from GSV.
Highlighting the importance of the partnership, GSV Vice Chancellor Prof. Manoj Choudhary said the collaboration reflects the university’s vision of translating industry-driven innovation into skilled human capital and new technologies. Airbus said the initiative underlines its commitment to research-led growth, sustainability and India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, while helping build a robust and future-ready aerospace ecosystem in the country.
