Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has significant expansion plans for its operations in India and may take millions of sq. ft. of new office space in Bengaluru, according to a Bloomberg News report.
The US technology giant has already leased one office tower and secured options for two additional towers at Alembic City, a large commercial development located in Whitefield, one of Bengaluru’s key technology corridors. Together, the three towers span around 2.4 million sq. ft. The first tower is expected to open for employees in the coming months, while construction of the remaining two buildings is slated for completion next year. If Alphabet occupies the entire complex, it could accommodate up to 20,000 additional employees, potentially more than doubling its current workforce in India, which stands at about 14,000.
