E-commerce company, Amazon.in has opened seven new warehouses (fulfilment centres) to cater exclusively to its appliances and furniture category.
The move will help generate employment opportunities to 1,200 people.
The e-commerce company, which has pledged an investment of USD five billion in the country, will also set up 33 delivery stations to cater to the growing demand in the appliances and furniture category.
With the addition of the new warehouses, the company will have a total of 34 fulfilment centres across 10 states.
The new fulfilment centres will be opened in nine states including, Karnataka, Telangana, Haryana, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
